SengSo Lustrous 3x3 Jelly Color

A classic 3x3 cube from ShengShou (SengSo brand) with built-in LED lighting. Inside there is a rechargeable battery, and LEDs light up the pieces from within, so you can still see the colors after the lights go out. The SengSo Lustrous 3x3 in the Jelly Color version has transparent plastic and colorful, semi-transparent stickerless faces. You can also see the inside of the cube through the shell during the day, with the lighting switched off.

How the lighting works

To switch the lighting on or off, press the tab on one of the centers until you feel a light click. You don't need to buy batteries. The built-in battery charges via USB, and the cable is included. It's a good idea to charge the cube right after taking it out of the box. A cube with a flat battery simply won't light up, which is easy to mistake for a defect.

How it turns

The Lustrous is a cube for solving for fun and for showing off, not for competitions. Users praise its pleasant turning and say that corner cutting is fine but doesn't match modern speed cubes. The electronics and battery add weight: 94 g is noticeably more than a typical 3x3 speed cube. When you turn fast, the cube feels heavier in the hand and less agile. During relaxed solving, the difference doesn't get in the way as much.
