The SengSo Master Kilominx V3 M is the magnetic version of ShengShou's four-layer dodecahedron. It has the shape of a megaminx, but each face is divided into more pieces than on a classic kilominx, so solving it feels more like a 4x4. The V3 model gets smaller pieces (33 mm face), rounded piece edges and 240 magnets that help the layers snap into place.

How the Master Kilominx V3 M turns

With four layers on each of the twelve faces, the biggest trouble usually comes from layers that aren't fully turned and small misalignments that later cause catching. On this model, the magnets take care of that: the layers stop in a noticeable position, and overshooting happens less often than on the non-magnetic version. The rounded edges make the puzzle more forgiving of slightly inaccurate turns, which matters a lot on a dodecahedron. The smaller pieces shorten finger movements, and the whole puzzle fits in your hand much more comfortably than the first-generation Master Kilominx.

In terms of solving method, the Master Kilominx is similar to a 4x4: first you build the centers and pair the edges, then you finish the solve like a regular minx. So it's more of a long, satisfying puzzle than a fast event.

Adjustment and construction

• Screw adjustment: you can change the spring tension and the layer distance (axis distance), setting the puzzle looser for speed or tighter for stability.
• Quick-release center caps: you can reach the screws without taking the whole puzzle apart.
• One-piece core with twelve axes: holds all the axes in a single structure, which reduces popping.
• Stickerless Bright: the colors are in the plastic, so there are no stickers that could wear off or peel.

M version or non-magnetic?

The Master Kilominx V3 comes in two versions. Without magnets, turning is freer and "looser". The M version gives clear layer positioning and more control, at the cost of slightly more weight. If you want your solves to go smoothly without constantly correcting layers, the magnetic version is the better choice.

Who is it for?

This puzzle is for people who already know the megaminx or 4x4 and want to try a bigger minx, as well as for dodecahedron collectors. It's not suitable as a first puzzle, because solving takes a long time and requires knowledge of the reduction method.
