SengSo Metallic Pyraminx M is a magnetic Pyraminx from ShengShou with a metallized, mirror-like surface. Instead of regular stickerless plastic, you get pieces in metallic colors that shine like chrome. Inside there is a standard plastic mechanism, so the puzzle turns like a normal Pyraminx, not like a metal gadget meant for a shelf. The letter M in the name means the magnets are factory-installed.

Magnets and solving feel

The magnets have moderate strength. The layers clearly snap into place, but turning doesn't feel heavy because of it. This makes it easier to keep the Pyraminx aligned during fast moves, and you'll need to fix an under-turned layer less often. If you like very strong, distinctly tactile magnets, you may find these too gentle. The magnet strength cannot be adjusted.

This is primarily a budget ShengShou model with an eye-catching finish. It has no advanced tension adjustment system or extra features known from flagship Pyraminxes. You can use it at competitions, but solvers chasing fast times in this event usually choose dedicated speedcubing models.

Metallic or regular stickerless?

The difference is mainly in the looks. The Metallic version has a mirror-gloss coating that draws more attention and looks great on a desk or shelf. Fingerprints and fine scratches are easier to see on the shiny surface than on matte plastic. If you solve a lot and intensively, a regular stickerless Pyraminx may be the more practical choice.

Who is it for?

It works well as a first magnetic Pyraminx, a gift for a child or an interesting piece for your collection. It's solved exactly like a classic Pyraminx, and the magnets help beginners line up the layers. It's a good option when looks and decent performance at a reasonable price matter more than maximum speedcubing capabilities.
