Thirteen layers in a cube that is still comfortable to hold in your hands. The SengSo MoSheng 13x13 by ShengShou measures approx. 93 mm and weighs around 568 g. We offer the non-magnetic version in stickerless bright with a matte (frosted) finish. The colors are vivid and easy to tell apart, which really helps with this many pieces.

Smaller and lighter than the older ShengShou 13x13

The older ShengShou 13x13 measured approx. 130 mm and weighed over a kilogram. The MoSheng is noticeably smaller and almost half the weight. Solving a 13x13 takes a long time, so the lower weight and size really reduce hand fatigue. The middle layers are also easier to grip with your fingers.

How the non-magnetic version turns

Without magnets, the layers don't snap into place on their own. After each turn you have to keep the layers aligned yourself, especially on the middle slices. In return, turning is free and neutral, because nothing pulls the layers. Many cubers prefer this feel on big cubes. According to distributors' descriptions, the movement is light and smooth for this size. However, this is a subjective opinion, not a technical specification. The pieces have a double base that stabilizes the internals, and their walls are approx. 2 mm thick.

Tension is set with spring-loaded screws, so you can loosen or tighten the cube a little to suit your style.

Magnetic or non-magnetic?

The MoSheng 13x13 is also available in a magnetic version. It has the same design, but the magnets in the pieces make aligning the layers easier and give a more controllable feel. The non-magnetic version is approx. 30 g lighter and usually cheaper. If you often have to fix misaligned layers, the magnetic version will suit you better. If you prefer free movement without magnetic pull, choose this one.

Who is it for?

For cubers who already solve the 6x6 or 7x7 and want to take on a really big cube. It's also a good fit for big cube collectors. The 13x13 is not a WCA event, so it's more about the challenge and patience than competition results. This model is not suitable as a first cube, including for kids. It's better to start with a 3x3 and then move up to bigger sizes.
