SengSo MoSheng 4x4 is a budget 4x4 cube from the MoSheng series by ShengShou (SengSo brand). It has a size of 63 mm, typical for speedcubing, and comes in the stickerless bright version, so there are no stickers. The colors are in the plastic itself, so nothing can wear off or peel. It weighs approx. 115 g, which is light for a 4x4.

Non-magnetic version

The MoSheng series has two 4x4 versions: the standard one and the magnetic one (MoSheng 4x4 M). This model is the standard version, without magnets. In practice, the layers don't "click" into place, so you have to align them yourself. On a 4x4 this matters more than on a 3x3, because when turning the inner layers (slices), lockups happen more easily if one of the layers is slightly misaligned. On the other hand, the cube is lighter and has a looser feel, without the resistance of magnets. Some people like that, especially for relaxed, casual solving.

Who is it for?

This model makes sense as a first 4x4 for someone who can already solve a 3x3 and wants to find out whether bigger cubes are for them. It's also useful as an inexpensive 4x4 for learning reduction (centers and edges) and parity algorithms, or as a second cube to keep in your backpack. It also makes a good gift for a child who has mastered the 3x3, as it's light and affordable.

If you want to time your solves regularly and improve your results, it's better to go straight for the magnetic version or another magnetic 4x4. Most people who practice 4x4 for speed solve on magnetic cubes, because they give more stability and control during fast turning.
