SengSo MoSheng 4x4 M is an affordable magnetic 4x4 cube from ShengShou. SengSo is another name for the same manufacturer. MoSheng is ShengShou's budget line, which includes regular 4x4 cubes as well as big cubes all the way up to 17x17. The letter "M" in the name stands for the version with factory-installed magnets. We offer it in the Stickerless Bright colour scheme, which means coloured plastic with no stickers.

What magnets do in a 4x4 cube

Magnets help more on a 4x4 than on a 3x3. The cube has two inner layers and no fixed centres, so it's easier to leave a layer misaligned. That causes a lockup on your next move. The magnets gently pull the layers into place, and every turn ends with a noticeable "click". In practice, you spend less time fixing the cube and find it easier to keep a steady pace. This helps especially during edge pairing and parity.

The magnets are exactly what sets the M version apart from the regular MoSheng 4x4. The non-magnetic version is cheaper, but its turns feel looser and you have to finish them more precisely with your fingers.

Who is the MoSheng 4x4 M for?

It's a good cube if you can already solve a 3x3 and want to try a 4x4 without spending a lot of money right away. It also works well as a child's first magnetic 4x4 or as a spare cube for your backpack. The magnets forgive some inaccuracy, which makes learning centre and edge reduction easier.

Keep in mind, though, that this is a budget model. A speedcuber who trains 4x4 regularly and wants more advanced features (e.g. a magnetic core or finer adjustment) should look at more expensive high-end cubes.
