SengSo MoSheng 6x6

A compact 6x6 cube from the MoSheng series, released by ShengShou under the SengSo brand. The SengSo MoSheng 6x6 measures 61 mm along each edge, weighs approx. 143 g and comes in a stickerless bright colour scheme, so there are no stickers to wear off or peel. It's an affordable 6x6x6 cube for anyone who wants to start with big cubes or add a 6x6 to their collection without paying for a flagship model.

Smaller than a typical 6x6

Size is what sets the MoSheng apart from older ShengShou cubes. The classic ShengShou 6x6 was 67 mm, while the MoSheng is a few millimetres smaller. On a 6x6 that's a noticeable difference: the cube is easier to hold and more comfortable to turn, especially if you have smaller hands. A smaller size also means smaller pieces, so if you're used to large 6x6 cubes, it may take you a moment to get a feel for precise inner-layer turns.

How it turns

Distributors describe the turning as smooth right out of the box. The model is new, so there are few independent reviews so far, which makes it hard to reliably judge things like corner cutting or resistance to lockups compared with competing cubes. The pieces are made of ABS plastic, and according to the manufacturer their walls are approx. 2 mm thick, which is meant to improve the rigidity and durability of the cube.

Who is it for?

The MoSheng 6x6 works well as a first 6x6 for anyone who already solves the 4x4 or 5x5 and wants to try a bigger cube. Your 4x4 knowledge will come in handy: the 6x6 has an even number of layers, so you'll run into the same parity cases. It's also a good cube for collectors, for example alongside the larger models from the MoSheng series. If you train the 6x6 for competitive times and want to adjust the spring tension, you'll usually choose a more expensive flagship magnetic model with an extensive setup.
