ShengShou Tank 6x6x6

The ShengShou Tank 6x6x6 is an affordable, simple 6x6 cube released in 2018. It was ShengShou's first new 6x6 in many years, as the brand's previous 6x6 model had come out much earlier. The Tank is not a flagship speedcube. Its construction is simple and typical of ShengShou, and it is not designed for very fast solving. We offer it in the stickerless bright version, meaning it uses colored plastic instead of stickers, with a matte (frosted) finish.

How it turns

The turning is light, and the cube doesn't offer much resistance. Corner cutting is fairly weak, so on this 6x6 you need to align the layers more carefully before the next move. Otherwise, lockups happen easily. The cube has an unusual feel: it seems loose in your hand, yet the pieces fit tightly together. That's enough for relaxed solving and for learning center and edge reduction. If you want to set fast times at a high TPS, you'll quickly notice its limitations.

Tension adjustment

You set the tension with adjustment screws. This lets you tighten the cube if it feels too loose, or loosen it so it turns more easily. It's a simple solution, without the more elaborate adjustment systems found on pricier models.

Who is it for?

For anyone who can solve a 4x4 and 5x5 and wants to try a 6x6 without spending a lot. The Tank also works well as a collection piece or a spare 6x6. If you want a 6x6 for regular training to improve your times, choose a newer speedcube instead, as it will give you more stability and better corner cutting. The cube is allowed in official competitions.
