Cubicle Angstrom Gravitas Lube

Cubicle Angstrom Gravitas Lube 5 ml

Angstrom Gravitas is a thick silicone lube for cubes from Cubicle's Angstrom series. The manufacturer describes it as a high-viscosity lube designed to give your cube a smooth feel and more control. It is not meant to make your cube faster. Gravitas slightly slows down turning, so the cube feels more "together" and predictable.

How it changes your cube

After lubing with Gravitas, a cube usually turns more calmly, and the feel becomes soft and a bit "rubbery". This is useful for models that are very fast out of the box or tend to overshoot. It then becomes easier to hit your layers at high TPS. Cubicle also points out that this lube loses its effect more slowly than regular, unmodified silicone lubes, so you need to re-lube your cube less often.

This lube isn't for everyone. If your cube is already slow or heavy, Gravitas will usually calm it down even more. In that case, a lighter lube is a better choice.

How to use

• Use it sparingly. The lube is very thick and won't spread through the cube on its own. Apply small amounts only where you want to change the feel.
• Applicator included. The lube comes with a small stick with a soft brush, which makes it easy to apply a thin layer.
• You can feel too much lube. A layer that is too thick can make your cube noticeably slow. It's better to start with a small amount and add more if needed.

Who is it for?

For cubers who want to calm down a cube that is too fast, add stability, or simply prefer a smooth and controllable feel. It's a lube for fine-tuning your setup, meaning it's for someone who knows what effect they want to achieve with their cube. If you're just starting out and have a new magnetic cube, you usually don't need to lube it with Gravitas right away.
