List of products by manufacturer WitEden

WitEden makes 2x2xN and 3x3xN cuboids, Mixup cubes designed together with Oskar van Deventer, and other unusual puzzles. These cubes are for people who can already solve a 3x3 and are looking for a new challenge, not a fast cube for speedcubing.

WitEden makes puzzles for people who can already solve the classic 3x3 cube and are looking for something different. This cube manufacturer specializes mainly in cuboids, that is, cubes shaped like a rectangular box, such as 2x2xN and 3x3xN. It also makes unusual modifications and puzzles designed together with well-known puzzle designers. This is not a brand focused on speedcubing. People buy WitEden cubes for a new solving challenge and for their collection, not for fast times.

WitEden cuboids: from 2x2x4 to 3x3x15

The most important part of the range is cuboids in many sizes. In our shop you will find, among others, the 2x2x4, 2x2x5, 2x2x6, 3x3x5, 3x3x6, 3x3x7, 3x3x8, 3x3x10, 3x3x11, 3x3x13 and 3x3x15 models. In many of them, every piece has the same length, width and height. This means the cube does not change shape when scrambled, and the difficulty comes from the number of layers.

For some sizes, WitEden makes two versions, marked with the numeral I or II. They differ in how the mechanism is built. For example, the 3x3x6 II is a so-called center-shifted cuboid, which works like a 3x3x7 with one 3x3 layer cut off. Similarly, the 2x2x5 is a center-shifted version of the 2x2x6. Two versions of the same size may require a different solving approach, so check the description of the specific model before you buy. There are also Super versions with round pieces on the faces, which give you more ways to scramble the puzzle. Some models also have black pieces instead of a white face.

Mixups and joint projects

The second well-known series is the Mixup cubes designed together with Oskar van Deventer. He is a Dutch puzzle designer known, among other things, for the 17x17x17 cube. The WitEden & Oskar 3x3x3 Mixup Cube looks like a large 3x3 cube. However, its mechanism allows moves that a regular cube cannot make, so scrambling and solving it requires a different approach. The range also includes the 3x3x4 and 4x4x4 versions as well as the Mixup Edge-rebuilt. In addition, WitEden created the Curvy Chop Cube together with SMAZ. It also offers other unusual designs, such as the Rainbow Magic Cube, Camouflage 4x4x3 and Roadblock Cube.

Who are WitEden cubes for?

  • If you are just starting out with cuboids, shorter models such as the 2x2x4 or 3x3x5 are a good choice.

  • Long cuboids, such as the 3x3x13 or 3x3x15, and the Mixup cubes are for experienced solvers who have the patience for a long solve.

  • Collectors will find many sizes and versions here that other manufacturers do not make.

  • For parents looking for a child's first cube, we recommend a classic 3x3 instead. WitEden puzzles make a good gift only for a child who can already solve one.
