YJ Dopamine-Style 24-Block Magic Snake

YJ Dopamine-Style 24-Block Magic Snake is a classic magic snake (also known as a Rubik's snake) made of 24 permanently connected pieces. You twist the blocks against each other and fold them into all kinds of shapes, both flat and three-dimensional. "Dopamine-Style" is the name of this version's colour scheme. YJ also makes the same model in other styles, such as Camping-Style and Panda-Style. We offer three colours: blue, yellow and red.

How a magic snake works

Unlike a 3x3 cube, the snake has no single "solved" state. You don't need to know any algorithms or have a set goal. Every twist changes the position of the neighbouring pieces. After a few turns, you end up with a ball, an animal, a letter or some other closed shape. You can recreate shapes from diagrams or invent your own. More complex figures require good spatial imagination and planning a few moves ahead.

The 24-piece version is the most classic one. It's long enough to build plenty of shapes, yet it doesn't get unwieldy in your hand. If you want to build bigger structures, you can go for longer snakes, for example 72-piece ones.

Who is it for?

It's a great puzzle for kids and a nice gift for someone who doesn't solve cubes. It requires no prior knowledge, and you can start playing within seconds. It also works well for cubers who want a break from speedcubing and just need something to fiddle with. Keep in mind, though, that this is a puzzle for free-form building. It's not meant for setting times and is not a WCA event.

The snake is flat and small, so it fits in a backpack pocket and is easy to take on a trip.
