YJ Panda-Style 24-Block Magic Snake

YJ Panda-Style 24-Block Magic Snake is a snake puzzle from YJ made of 24 connected blocks shaped like triangular prisms. Each block can be set in four positions relative to the next one. With this chain you can build both simple figures and fairly complex 3D shapes. There is no single "solution" like with a 3x3 cube. You twist it into shapes of your own design or recreate ready-made patterns.

How a magic snake works

The mechanism is simple: neighbouring blocks rotate against each other in steps of a quarter turn. That is why every joint has four positions. As you twist the segments one after another, the snake curls, bends and closes into solid shapes. The most popular ones are a ball, animals, letters and geometric shapes. You can make a few basic figures within minutes. More elaborate forms take spatial imagination and planning your next moves.

The snake is not a WCA event, so it is not something you buy for competitions. It is a puzzle to twist for fun, as a break from cubes or as a fidget to hold in your hand while you study or work.

Panda-Style version and colours

Panda-Style is one of several designs of the YJ 24-block snake. Other versions in this series are also available, e.g. Camping-Style and Dopamine-Style, which differ in style. You can choose the Panda-Style version in three colours:
