YJ TianYuan Bundle – a set of 3 puzzles

YJ TianYuan Bundle is a set of three puzzles from the TianYuan series: V1, V2 and V3. All three are modifications of an O2-type cube, in other words shape mods. The cube is surrounded by an outer frame that covers some of the pieces, so certain pieces only become visible while you turn the puzzle. The three models present the same challenge at three difficulty levels. The set comes in the Stickerless Bright version.

How solving works

You solve each TianYuan by moving the center piece. At first glance it looks like a simple puzzle. The difficulty comes from the hidden pieces tucked under the frame. To see them and move them into place, you have to turn the cube and remember where everything is. V1 is the introductory version. The later models add an extra task, for example placing a corner or an inner piece. It's best to solve them in order: start with V1 and only then move on to the harder versions.

What to expect

This is not speedcubing gear, and there is no point judging it by TPS or corner cutting. Because of its shape and frame, it turns differently from a classic cube. Users say the turning is fine, but on some moves the sharp edges of the frame can dig into your fingers. This is a puzzle for relaxed tinkering. It's not really something you solve against the clock.
