YJ WuXiong Wide Mat

YJ WuXiong Wide Mat is a longer version of the YJ WuXiong speedcubing mat. It measures 84 x 29.8 cm, which makes it almost 30 cm longer than the standard WuXiong (55 x 30 cm). The depth is almost the same, so the mat won't take up more space towards the back of your desk, yet you can comfortably fit a cube, a timer and several puzzles on it at once. Two graphic designs are available: Gravity and Explosion.

What is a cube mat for

A mat gives your cube a soft surface. When you put the cube down after a solve or drop it while stopping the timer, it lands on the mat instead of a hard desktop. This lowers the risk of damaging the pieces and of pops, and your table won't get scratched either. On a smooth desk, the cube and timer tend to slide around, while the mat gives them a fixed spot. That way your whole training setup is always arranged the same way.

What makes the Wide version different

The standard WuXiong mat comfortably fits a cube and a timer. The Wide version gives you more space on the sides. This comes in handy when you practise several events in a row and want to keep a 3x3, a 2x2 and a Pyraminx within reach, or when you want your phone or lube next to the timer. The mat is thin (approx. 3 mm), so it doesn't get in the way of your hand placement or using the timer.

Gravity or Explosion?

Both versions are the same size and differ only in their graphics. So the choice comes down to which design you like better.

Who is it for?

For anyone who practises at home with a timer and wants more desk space than a standard mat offers. A wide mat is also a great addition to a child's first cube. It protects both the cube and the desk, and it gives them a dedicated place to solve.
