YJ YuPo 2x2 II Clicky

YJ YuPo 2x2 II Clicky

YJ YuPo 2x2 II Clicky is a magnetic 2x2 cube in a "clicky" version (YJ also calls it DiDa). Turns have a more distinct, audible "click" when the layers snap into place. It is based on the YuPo V2, a refreshed version of YJ's popular budget 2x2 cube. This one is the stickerless variant in bright colors, 50 mm in size.

How it turns

The YuPo V2 turns well straight out of the box, so you don't need to take it apart or lube it right away. The magnets are medium strength. They help the layer settle into place without making the cube feel heavy or "sticky". Compared with the first YuPo, the feel is similar, and the cube is slightly more flexible.

The Clicky version differs from the regular YuPo V2 M mainly in how it feels when turning. When a layer lands in place, you feel clear resistance and hear a click. Many cubers like this kind of feedback, because you know right away that the layer is aligned. If you prefer a quiet cube or a softer, smoother feel, you'll probably go for the standard magnetic version.

Finish

The plastic is matte (frosted) and the grip is medium: the cube doesn't slip in your hands, but it doesn't stick to your fingers either. The stickerless version has no stickers, so nothing wears off or peels.

Who is it for?

It's a good first magnetic 2x2 for a beginner or a child who has already learned the basics and wants a faster cube than a regular toy. It also works well as an inexpensive backup cube or one to carry in your backpack. A competitor who trains 2x2 seriously and wants to fine-tune the setup will sooner or later reach for a higher-end model. At this price, though, the YuPo II Clicky gives you a reliable magnetic cube with clearly noticeable layer alignment.
