Yuxin Super Hero Cube 3x3 Mini is a puzzle cube and a figure in one. A small 3x3 cube with a 35 mm edge serves as the head of a muscular "superhero" that looks a bit like a statuette from a film awards gala. Instead of the usual colors, the faces of the cube have facial expressions drawn on them. By turning the layers, you change the figure's expression. You can choose between two color versions of the figure: Golden and Silver.

How it works

The cube has 6 different faces, one on each side. It stays on the figure thanks to a magnetic connection, so it doesn't fall off when you move the figure around on the shelf. Just take it off, solve or scramble it, and put it back with any side facing forward. The figure then wears whatever expression you choose. There are holes in the corners of the cube, so you can attach it to a keyring. It works just as well on its own: as a cube on your keys or backpack.

What to expect

This is a fully functional 3x3 cube that you can solve normally. But at 35 mm (a standard cube is about 56 mm), it's more of a gadget than a record-breaking tool. For practice and speedsolving, a regular speedcube is a better choice. Most of the set's weight is in the figure, so the whole thing stands steadily on a desk.
