ZePuzzles J2 Triangular Prism

ZePuzzles J2 Triangular Prism is a two-layer puzzle shaped like a triangular prism. It makes a nice change from classic NxN cubes, but it isn't difficult. It has only 14 pieces, so you don't need to know any long algorithms to solve it. The hardest part is getting used to the unusual geometry. A lot depends on how you recognise the pieces and plan your next moves when the puzzle doesn't look like a cube.

How it turns

According to distributors, the J2 turns smoothly and stably, and its mechanism is closer to speed cubes than to cheap novelty puzzles. The surface is glossy and smooth to the touch.

Size and colours

The prism measures approx. 90 x 90 x 50 mm, so it is noticeably larger than a standard 3x3 cube, but flat. It sits comfortably in your hand and doesn't take up much space on a desk or shelf. It weighs 97 g. Two colour versions are available: Black and Blue.

Who is it for?

The J2 works well as a first puzzle from outside the world of classic cubes. It's a good pick if you can already solve a 3x3 or 2x2 and want to try something different without jumping straight into complex shape mods.
