Four-Leaf-Clover PLUS with 6-Color Sticker from Calvins Puzzle is a new colour scheme for the well-known Clover Cube Plus puzzle. The mechanism is the same, but the colour layout is different, and so is the way you have to read the puzzle while solving it. Each face shows a pattern that resembles a four-leaf clover, hence the name. The puzzle has black plastic and stickers in six colours.

How the Clover Cube Plus works

The Clover Cube Plus is derived from the Curvy Copter. It is based on edge turns, and the curved cuts form a clover shape on the faces. The Plus version also has a built-in 2x2 mechanism, so in addition to edge turns you can turn the faces like on a regular 2x2 cube. Some moves take the puzzle out of its cube shape, which is why it belongs to the shape-shifting puzzle category.

A common way to solve it: first restore the cube shape and solve a 2x2 layer, then solve the rest like a regular "clover", which is a Curvy Copter variant.

What the 6-Color scheme changes

Yellow and white are on opposite faces. The other four colours do not cover whole faces; instead, they form vertical stripes along the outer edges of the 2x2. That means it is not enough to check whether each face is a single colour. You have to keep track of where one stripe ends and the next begins. If you already know the classic Clover Cube Plus, this is a great way to make the same puzzle a challenge again.

There is also an 8-Color version with metallic stickers in eight colours, where each 2x2 piece has a single colour. The mechanism is the same, so the choice depends on which colour scheme interests you more.

Who is it for?

For collectors and anyone who enjoys unusual puzzles and is no longer surprised by regular NxN cubes. This is not a speedcubing model and has no tension adjustment. It is made for relaxed solving and looks great on a shelf. For a child's first cube, a classic 3x3 or 2x2 is a better choice. This puzzle makes more sense once you already know the basics.
