Calvins Puzzle Four-Leaf-Clover PLUS with 8-Color Sticker is a sticker mod of the well-known Clover Cube Plus puzzle. The mechanism stays the same, but the colour scheme changes, and with it the goal of the solve. Each of the eight 2x2 corners is entirely one colour. A solved puzzle therefore shows eight solid blocks instead of six faces in different colours. The body is black and the stickers have a metallic brushed finish.

How the Clover Cube Plus works

This puzzle combines two mechanisms. The first is edge turning, as in a Curvy Copter with deeper cuts. These turns create the four-leaf clover pattern on the faces. The second is regular face turning, as on a 2x2 cube. The Plus version also jumbles: certain move combinations swap pieces in unusual ways, and the puzzle loses its cube shape. That is why it belongs to the shape-shifting puzzle category.

Once the shape is scrambled, you have to align the layers carefully before making the next edge turn. Don't expect smooth turning like on a speed cube. This puzzle is for relaxed solving and figuring things out, not for setting times.

What the 8-colour stickers change

On the regular version, you orient yourself by the face colours. Here, you mainly see which 2x2 corner a piece belongs to. You track pieces differently, so it takes a bit of getting used to. Even if you know the standard Clover Cube Plus, you will have to rethink your method. Calvins Puzzle also offers a 6-colour version with a different sticker layout. It uses the same mechanism and differs only in the colour scheme.

For collectors of unusual puzzles who have already tackled the Curvy Copter, Clover Cube or other jumbling puzzles. The mod is also a good choice if you already own the standard Clover Cube Plus and are looking for a new challenge on the same mechanism. For your first shape-shifting puzzle, it is better to choose a simpler model.
