Cubicle Lubicle 1 Lube

Cubicle Lubicle 1 Lube

Lubicle 1 is a fast cube lube from Cubicle Labs. It is silicone-based with added Teflon. The silicone components have very low viscosity, so your cube turns more lightly. The Teflon stays on the inner surfaces of the pieces and smooths out small scratches in the plastic. We sell the lube in a 10 ml bottle.

How it works in a cube

Lubicle 1 speeds up a cube, but in practice not as much as the thinnest lubes such as DNM-37. According to cubers, the effect is less extreme, so the cube stays fast and still controllable. Some people have also noticed that it behaves more predictably across different models. Some cubes can actually slow down with a very thin lube, while Lubicle 1 speeds them up. With a larger amount, the turning becomes softer and smoother, a bit "squishy".

The lube works especially well in cubes that have been used for a few years and turn worse than they did at the beginning, for example because of scratched pieces or sand inside. The Teflon fills small damage in the plastic, which reduces friction. Some users also say the lube lasts longer than typical thin fast lubes. Others point out that it evaporates fairly quickly. So durability depends largely on the cube and the amount of lube used.

Before use

• Shake the bottle. Lubicle 1 is a multi-component lube, and its components have different viscosities, so they can separate in the bottle.
• Start with a small amount. A drop or two is usually enough to begin with. If you want the cube to feel softer, add more lube only after checking the effect.
• Keep the Teflon in mind. Part of the lube stays in the cube for longer, so try it on a spare cube first and only then on your main.

Who is it for?

This lube is for anyone who finds very thin lubes too unpredictable, and for everyone who wants to bring back the smoothness of an older, worn-out cube. If all you want is maximum speed in a new cube, a thinner fast lube is a better choice. Lubicle 1 won't give a "wow" effect in every new main, but it works well in cubes that have lost their smoothness.
