Cubicle Lubicle Speedy Lube

Cubicle Lubicle Speedy Lube

Lubicle Speedy is a silicone cube lube from the Lubicle line by the American brand TheCubicle. It is lighter and more fluid than the standard Lubicle. It is designed to speed up your cube without taking away the smoothness of its turning. If your cube feels sluggish or "dry", this is one of the simplest ways to give it a bit more speed.

How it changes your cube

Speedy gently speeds up turning. It doesn't turn your cube into something completely different, so it shouldn't suddenly become hard to control. Turns are smoother, and the feel becomes silkier with a slight "gliding" quality. Cubers often combine it with a water-based lube such as DNM-37, but on its own it also gives a noticeable effect. It doesn't take many solves for the lube to spread and for the cube to settle into its intended feel.

This is a speed-oriented lube. If your cube is already very fast and you struggle with overshooting, it's better to reach for a thicker lube that adds control.

Where and how to apply it

Because of its low viscosity, Lubicle Speedy works best on the cube pieces (edges, corners and centers), i.e. where the pieces rub against each other during turning. Heavier lubes are more commonly used on the core and springs. The manufacturer recommends:

• 2-5 drops for a 3x3 cube, correspondingly more for larger cubes,
• after applying, turn the cube for a few minutes so the lube spreads,
• start with a smaller amount and add more if needed, since it's easier to add lube than to remove the excess.

The lube is suitable for 3x3 cubes as well as larger puzzles.

Who is it for?

For cubers who want to speed up their cube while keeping pleasant, smooth turning. It's easy to use, so even someone lubing a cube for the first time will manage. A 10 ml bottle is enough for many applications.
