The DianSheng Googol 8cm Magnetic 3x3 belongs to DianSheng's series of oversized cubes, also sold as the DianSheng Big 3x3 M. Despite its size, it is built like a regular speedcubing puzzle: it comes with factory-installed magnets and adjustment, so it is more than just a decoration for your shelf.

How does a big 3x3 cube turn?

Compared with a regular 3x3 cube, the Googol 8cm is bigger and heavier, so turning takes a bit more hand movement and more deliberate turns. Users describe it as smooth and snappy, but also fairly loud. Fingertricks still work, and people who have tested it get times that are noticeably, though not drastically, slower than on their main cube. The pieces have a teardrop shape, which according to the manufacturer improves turning smoothness.

Keep in mind, though, that at this size the cube will not replace your main 3x3 for practice. If you have smaller hands, 8 cm may already be uncomfortable for fast solving.
