DianSheng Solar 3x3x3 is a budget 3x3 cube from DianSheng's Solar series. This variant is the stickerless bright version: the faces are made of brightly coloured plastic, with no stickers. That means nothing can peel off or wear away, even after long use. The cube measures about 56 mm and weighs 76 g. It's a standard 3x3 size that fits comfortably in the hands of both adults and older children.

Basic version or Solar 3M?

In the Solar series, the magnetic version has the letter M in its name (Solar 3M). Later came the S3M, S3M Plus and S3M 2022 models, which offer tension and compression adjustment, and some of them also MagLev. This product is the basic Solar 3x3x3, without the M. A cube without magnets doesn't "snap" the layers into place by itself. Turning feels freer, but there's no characteristic click that helps you align the layers. For learning to solve, it's more than enough. If you want to improve your times quickly and need stability at high TPS, a magnetic model is the better choice.

Who is this 3x3 cube for?

• Beginners who want to learn to solve the cube with the layer-by-layer method without spending a lot on gear right away.
• Kids as a first cube. Being stickerless, it has no stickers that could peel off.
• A backup cube for your backpack, school or work, when you don't want to carry your main cube around.
• Mods and experiments with lubes, since it costs very little.

For competitions and regular speedcubing practice, a magnetic cube with adjustment options will serve you better. The Solar 3x3x3 doesn't compete with such models. It's simply meant to work well for learning and everyday solving.
