GAN 460 M 4x4 V2 SP

GAN 460 M 4x4 V2 SP is a more affordable version of the GAN 460 M V2 magnetic 4x4 cube. The construction is the same as in the standard V2; the difference lies in the magnet layout. GAN removed 48 magnets from the middle layers, leaving 112 magnets (16 in the core and 96 outer ones). The standard V2 has 160. The SP comes only in the frosted version, with a matte surface and no UV coating. We offer it in the stickerless bright colour scheme.

How the SP differs from the regular 460 M V2

Fewer magnets mean weaker magnetic resistance when turning. The manufacturer describes the SP as a variant for cubers who prefer a lighter, faster feel with less resistance while turning. The cube still has 16 magnets in the core, which help align the layers and keep the inner layers from shifting. This matters on a 4x4, because fast slice moves can easily leave layers misaligned. If you like a strong, distinct "click" with every move, you should go for the full 460 M V2 with 160 magnets. The SP version has softer, smoother magnets.

Construction

• Double corner stalks and Xmas-tree shaped edges, which stiffen the mechanism and reduce popping.
• One-piece inner shell and thicker outer layers that are less prone to deformation.
• Third-generation magnetic capsules. They are ultrasonically welded and sealed, so the magnets don't come loose.
• Honeycomb-textured contact surfaces that help spread the lube inside the cube.
• Tension adjustment, so you can set the cube looser for speed or tighter for control.

Who is it for?

For anyone who wants a magnetic GAN 4x4 built on the same platform as the flagship V2 but doesn't need the full set of 160 magnets. It can also be a good option if the standard 460 M V2 feels too "heavy" magnetically. The cube has the typical speedcubing size of 60 mm, so it sits comfortably in your hands. It also works well as a first serious 4x4 for someone who already solves the 3x3 and wants to move on to bigger cubes.
