GAN Lube v1 (2 ml)

GAN Lube v1 (2 ml)

GAN Lube v1 is a medium-viscosity silicone cube lube. It belongs to GAN's newer lube series, where the manufacturer calls it Maintenance or No.1 Daily Care. It forms a thin protective layer on the parts that rub against each other. This reduces friction, limits plastic wear and helps your cube keep turning evenly for longer. This version comes in a small 2 ml bottle. You can try the lube without buying a large bottle, and it fits easily in a cube case or a backpack for competitions.

What GAN Lube v1 is for

This is a lube for everyday maintenance, not for drastically changing how your cube feels. When your cube starts to feel dry, louder or scratchier, a few drops usually bring back its smoothness. Medium viscosity means it won't speed up the cube as much as thin speed lubes, and it won't slow it down like thick control lubes. That makes it a good choice if you simply want to keep your cube in good shape and don't have your own lubing setup yet.

In the GAN series, v1 is the base lube. More advanced cubers can apply it as a first layer and then fine-tune the feel. For that, use v2 (Accel / Smooth), a thin lube that speeds the cube up, or v3 (Mastery / Control), a thicker lube that gives more stability and control.

How to lube your cube

• Start with 1-2 drops on the contact surfaces of the pieces or on the corner feet.
• Turn all layers a few dozen times to spread the lube.
• Before timed solves, give the lube a few minutes to settle in.
• Add more lube only when the cube starts to feel dry again. Too much lube makes the cube sticky and slower.

The lube works with cubes from various manufacturers, not just GAN, and with different types of puzzles: 2x2, 3x3, bigger cubes and Pyraminx.
