Magic Beans Triangle Spinner

Magic Beans Triangle Spinner is a triangular puzzle with colorful balls ("beans") that you can also spin like a spinner. It is not a speedcube. It is closer to a fidget toy with a simple logic task: first you scramble the balls, then you sort them back into groups of the same color. It comes in three body colors: Blue, Pink and Orange.

How it works

The colored balls sit in tracks inside the body. The three ends of the triangle rotate, and turning the middle part moves the balls between sections, either around a circle or along a straight line. A few moves are enough to mix up the colors. Sorting them back takes a bit of figuring out, because every turn moves several balls at once.

The second function is the spinner. You can spin the whole puzzle on your finger or on a table, so it works well as something to keep your hands busy at your desk, at school or while traveling.

What to watch out for

Turns are smooth when the balls are aligned with the joints between sections. If something resists, it is better to adjust the alignment slightly than to force the turn. With too much pressure, the balls can pop out of their tracks. This is a small puzzle with small parts, so younger children should play with it under adult supervision.

Who is it for?

For kids and adults who like having something in their hands and enjoy a little brain teaser at the same time. You don't need to know any algorithms; a few minutes is enough to understand how the balls move. It also makes a nice small gift or a break for a cuber who wants to take a rest from classic cubes for a while. It is not suitable for speedcubing practice, as it is a completely different type of puzzle.
