Pyramid Magic Bean Cube

Pyramid Magic Bean Cube is a pyramid-shaped brain teaser that combines two ideas: a classic twisty puzzle and a ball game (the so-called magic bean). It has turning tips like a Pyraminx, and on every face there is a rotating wheel with colorful balls. It is made by Puzzle Ball, a brand known for its whole series of Magic Bean puzzles.

How it works

On each face you turn the tips of the pyramid and rotate the wheel with the balls. By combining these moves, you move balls between the faces and scramble them. The puzzle is solved only when the pyramid itself is back in its starting state and every ball is on the face of its own color. You have to keep track of two things at once, and that is what makes this pyramid different from a regular Pyraminx.

The difficulty is moderate: for an experienced cuber it is more of a break from cubes, and a beginner just needs a bit of patience. It is not about time or TPS, but about figuring out how to move the balls without ruining what you have already solved. Many people also simply use it as a fidget toy to twist in their hands.

Build

The puzzle has no magnets. The tips and ball wheels turn freely, so moves are easy to make. You can choose between two body colors: Blue and Light Blue. The mechanism is the same in both versions.

A gift for a child who likes brain teasers but doesn't necessarily solve puzzle cubes. For a collector of unusual puzzles. Or for a cuber who already has a Pyraminx and wants to try something with a different character.
