An MF8 Crazy series puzzle shaped like a 2x2 cube (58 mm, no magnets) with round cut-outs in the middle of the faces. On some faces the discs turn together with the face, on the others they don't. Version 000 has the same "0" marking on the red, green and white faces. Available in Black or Stickerless Bright.
At first glance it looks like an ordinary 2x2 cube, but your first scramble quickly shows the difference. The MF8 Crazy 2x2 Plus 000 is a puzzle from the Crazy series. Each face has a round cut-out in the middle, and depending on the face, this disc either turns together with it or stays in place. This makes solving it completely different from a classic 2x2. Version 000 is one of three variants of this model.
All three versions have the same size and the same look. They differ only in how the discs behave on three faces: red, green and white. Each digit in the name corresponds to one of these faces. In version 000, all three faces are marked "0", so they all work the same way. In versions 001 and 011, some of them use mode "1". Each combination creates a different puzzle and requires a different approach to solving it. That is why collectors of the Crazy series often buy all three versions.
This is not a speed cube, so there is no point judging it by TPS or corner cutting. There are no magnets inside, and the fun is all about thinking rather than fast turning. Knowing a 2x2 method won't help you much here. The discs have to be solved together with the rest of the cube, so every solve takes planning. Customers who bought this puzzle point out that it is easy to underestimate, because it looks unassuming.
Don't force the corners when turning, as this can break a piece in 2x2 cubes. If something pops out while turning, you can usually put it back together by hand.
For people who can already solve classic cubes and are looking for something they'll need to spend more time on. It also makes a great gift for a collector of MF8 puzzles or for someone who has grown bored of the regular 2x2. For a child's first cube, a standard 2x2 or 3x3 is a better choice.
