MF8 Crazy 2x2 Plus Cube 001 is a puzzle from the Crazy 2x2 Plus series. From the outside it looks like a regular 2x2 cube, but every face has a circle cut into it. Depending on the face, this circle either turns with the face or stays in place. The same moves as on a 2x2 give a completely different result, so knowing the classic 2x2 method is not enough to solve it.

How version 001 works

The manufacturer marks circles that do not turn with the face with the digit "0". In version 001, these fixed circles are on two faces: red and white. On the remaining faces, the circle turns together with the layer. Because of this, the cube behaves differently depending on which face you turn, and you need to keep that in mind from your very first attempt.

How versions 000, 001 and 011 differ

The Crazy 2x2 Plus series comes in three variants, which differ in the number of faces with a fixed circle:

• 000: circles marked "0" on three faces (red, green and white),
• 001: circles marked "0" on two faces (red and white),
• 011: circle marked "0" only on the white face.

All three have the same size and look, but each version solves a little differently. That is why collectors often buy the whole set.

Who is it for?

This cube is for people who can already solve the 2x2 and 3x3 and want to try something different from yet another speed cube. Intuitive solving and knowledge of commutators come in handy. The Crazy 2x2 Plus is a puzzle for your collection and for relaxed solving, not a cube for breaking records, so there is no point judging it by TPS or corner cutting. For a child's first cube, a regular magnetic 2x2 is a better choice.
