The MF8 Triple Crazy Megaminx is a dodecahedron from the Crazy family that has three concentric rings on every face instead of a single circle. This is not a speed puzzle for setting fast times. It is for people who already know the regular Megaminx and are looking for something much more challenging.

How this Megaminx works

The faces are not all the same. Each of the three rings on a given face has a setting of 0 or 1. This setting determines how the pieces of the ring behave when the face is turned. This gives four face types: 000, 001, 011 and 111 (counting from the centre). The puzzle has three faces of each type. In practice, you solve it ring by ring: first the inner ring, then the second and the third. The inner ring is solved in a similar way to the Venus Megaminx, but the next rings each need their own approach.

Before you turn an adjacent face, you need to align the rings with a slight back-and-forth movement. Without this, the layers lock up. This is a normal feature of this design, not a defect of your copy.
