MoYu Cyberpunk Mat Medium

MoYu Cyberpunk Mat Medium

The MoYu Cyberpunk Mat Medium is the medium-sized speedcubing mat from the Cyberpunk series, which MoYu launched in 2024. It measures 50 x 36 cm at its widest point. It isn't a plain rectangle; it has its own distinctive shape. The artwork matches the series name: a mechanical pattern in shades of grey and orange on a black background, with a MoYu 3x3 cube in the centre.

A spot for your timer

The most practical feature of this mat is the holes for attaching a MoYu timer. The timer stays fixed to the mat and doesn't slide when you quickly put your hands down after a solve. This matters during timed practice, because a timer that has shifted can ruin your start or stop. Some distributors say the mat also fits certain timers from other brands, but a guaranteed fit applies to MoYu timers.

Medium size vs. the other versions

The Cyberpunk series comes in three sizes, so it's easy to pick a mat that suits your desk:

• Small is a compact mat (approx. 30 x 25 cm). It fits on a small desk or in a backpack, but it has no timer holes.
• Medium (50 x 36 cm) gives you comfortable space for your cube and timer. It's a sensible choice for a typical desk at home.
• Large is a long, rectangular mat (approx. 86 x 32 cm) in the style of competition mats. It needs quite a lot of space.

The Medium version is approx. 2 mm thick. It won't turn your desk into a sponge, but it protects your cube and the desk surface when you put the cube down, and it dampens the knocking on a hard table. The mat is shipped rolled up.

Who is it for?

For cubers who practise at home with a timer and want a fixed, tidy setup. It also works well as a cube pad for beginners, even without a timer. If you have very little space, the Small version is a better choice. If you want to recreate competition conditions, go for the Large version.
