This set is for creating pictures out of cubes, not for breaking records. MoYu Mosaic 3 cm is a set of 100 miniature 3x3 cubes, each 30 mm in size, that you use to build a 10x10 mosaic. Each face of a cube has 9 tiles, so the finished picture is made up of 900 colourful "pixels". That's enough for a portrait, a logo, a flag or some lettering. The cubes come in the stickerless bright version. The colour is part of the plastic, so nothing peels off or wears away, even when you rearrange your pictures again and again.

How a cube mosaic is made

Each cube is one 3x3 section of the picture. You set the right colour pattern on the front face of a cube and place it in its spot in the grid. By choosing which face goes to the front, you also choose the centre colour, so you have all six colours to work with. You can plan the pattern by hand or use one of the free mosaic generators that turn a photo into a cube layout. The set also includes a booklet with ideas for your first pictures.

The cubes arrive solved. Once you've built a mosaic, you're left with 100 scrambled cubes. If you can solve a 3x3, getting them back to their starting state is no problem. It can also be great practice for someone who is just learning.

Who is it for?

For cubers who want to do something more with their cubes than just solve them. The set also works well as a gift, room decoration or material for school lessons or a hobby club. If you're looking for a speedcubing cube, this isn't the right product. The 30 mm cubes are too small for comfortable timed solving and don't have the features of flagship speed cubes. For that, it's better to choose a regular 3x3 cube in a size of approx. 55-57 mm.
