MoYu Mosaic 3 cm, set of 25 3x3 cubes

MoYu Mosaic 3 cm is a set of 25 miniature 3x3 cubes with a 30 mm edge, designed for building mosaics. Each face of a cube gives you 9 coloured tiles, so 25 cubes arranged in a 5x5 square create a picture made of 225 "pixels". That's enough for simple portraits, logos, emojis, pixel art or lettering. The cubes come in the stickerless bright version, which means the colour is in the plastic itself and you don't have to worry about stickers peeling off.

How a cube mosaic is made

You set the right colour pattern on the front face of each cube and put it in its place in the frame. You need to plan in advance which part of the picture goes on which cube. For simple designs you can do this on squared paper, and the set also includes a booklet with mosaic ideas. Larger projects at this scale are good practice in planning and in setting specific patterns on a face, and once a picture is finished, you can take it apart and start the next one.

Frame and display

The cubes are held in a 25-cube frame measuring approx. 15 x 15 cm. A stand slides out from the back of the frame, so the mosaic can stand on a desk or shelf. The set also includes two self-adhesive hooks you can use to hang the frame on the wall.

Who is it for?

The set works well as a gift for someone who loves cubes, as room decor, as an activity for kids or for school workshops. The 30 mm cubes are much smaller than a standard 3x3 cube (approx. 56 mm), so they won't replace a speedcubing cube. For everyday timed solving, a full-size cube is a better choice. MoYu also offers a larger version with 100 cubes (10x10) for more detailed pictures.
