MoYu Super RS3M V2 UV Magnetic 3x3

MoYu Super RS3M V2 UV Magnetic 3x3 is the basic version of the second-generation Super RS3M. It has magnets, classic springs and a UV coating, but no MagLev and no magnets in the core. MoYu also sells the same 3x3 cube in a MagLev version and a Ball-Core version. The V2 internals are simpler than in earlier RS3 models: the pieces are smooth and even, with no grooves. This version has milky white internals and comes in a stickerless bright colour scheme.

How it turns

The Super RS3M V2 series has a fairly firm, controllable feel, typical of the RS3 line. Reviewers place it between the first Super RS3M and the WeiLong V9. Of these three, the standard version is the least fast. Compared with the Super V1, it is less blocky but more clicky. Opinions on corner cutting vary. Some people praise it, while others feel that at larger angles it falls behind more expensive MoYu models and the V9. If you mainly want a light and very fast cube, you may find this version too calm.

Magnets and adjustment

• 48 magnets in the classic edge-corner layout. They help the layers snap into place, but there are no magnets in the core.

Standard, MagLev or Ball-Core?

All three versions of the Super RS3M V2 have a UV coating, a size of 55.5 mm and the same adjustment system. The MagLev version has 60 magnets, and in it repelling magnets replace the springs. This gives lighter and faster turning. The Ball-Core version has 88 magnets, including magnets in the core, and is the most stable. Some people, however, find it too blocky. The standard version is the simplest and the cheapest. If you don't need a magnetic core, it is all you need.

Who is it for?

For those who have already had their first cube and want to move up to a better magnetic 3x3 with tension adjustment. Also for those who like controlled, predictable cubes from the RS3 series. It also works well as a first proper cube for a child who can already solve. A speedcuber looking for a main with a magnetic core should rather consider the Ball-Core version or another model.
