The Super RS3M V2 is the 2023 refresh of the 2022 Super RS3M. The RS3 series is a more affordable MoYu line than the WeiLong cubes, but the second generation of the Super got features previously found mainly on more expensive cubes. The MoYu Super RS3M V2 UV Maglev 3x3 is the springless version. Instead of springs, it uses a MagLev system, and the entire outer surface has a UV coating. The cube is stickerless in a bright colour scheme, with purple internals.

How it turns

This is a fast cube. MagLev eliminates spring friction, so the layers turn with less resistance, and the magnets "catch" the layers more noticeably during slower turning. In a test of the three Super V2 versions, the Maglev version came out as the least stable. The test also noted that it can feel catchy during fast turning and some people find it hard to control. The feel is described as fast and tactile. Opinions on corner cutting are mixed: some users are happy with it, while others say it is better on newer flagships. You may need to adjust the tension and lube the cube to suit your preferences.

MagLev, magnets and tension adjustment

How do the Super RS3M V2 versions differ?

The standard version has springs and classic magnets. It feels similar to the previous Super RS3M and is more predictable. The Maglev version (this one) has the same design but no springs, which makes it faster and lighter to turn at the cost of stability. The Ball-Core version additionally has a magnetic core and magnets between the pieces and the centres. It is the heaviest and most stable of the three, and it also aligns the layers on its own more noticeably. If you don't like strong auto-alignment, you will usually choose the Maglev over the Ball-Core.

Who is it for?

For cubers who want a cube with MagLev and a UV coating at a lower price than the flagships and who like fast, light turning. If you are still learning or prefer a calmer, more controllable cube, the standard or Ball-Core version will suit you better.
