The Super WeiLong is MoYu's flagship 3x3 cube from 2023, and this is the most feature-packed version of the model's first generation. The MoYu Super Weilong Maglev 3x3 20-Magnet Ball Core UV has a 20-magnet Ball-Core, MagLev instead of springs, adjustable corner magnet strength and a glossy UV coating. In total, the manufacturer fits it with 100 magnets. We offer it in the stickerless bright colour scheme.

How it turns

Users most often describe the feel as smooth and fairly soft. Turning is light, yet the cube stays stable. Reviewers praise its corner cutting and good resistance to popping. MagLev gives lighter, faster turning than traditional springs, and the magnets in the core help the layers snap into place. According to the manufacturer, auto-alignment 3.0 starts pulling the layer into place when it is about 43 degrees from the end of a turn. Out of the box, the cube can feel dry and usually needs a short break-in period or a little lube.

If you prefer tactile cubes with noticeable resistance, you may find this feel too soft. Some users also point out that the UV-coated pieces are fairly brittle, so be gentle when disassembling the cube and removing pieces.

Ball-Core, MagLev and adjustment

• 20-magnet Ball-Core. Magnets between the corners and the core improve control and stabilise the layers during fast turning.
• MagLev. Instead of springs, it uses repelling magnets.
• 8 levels of corner magnet strength. You set the pull towards the core with a dial in the corner. In this version, the dial is gold.
• 9 levels of MagLev elasticity, i.e. compression. You change it with the tool included in the set.
• Piece design: anti-pop and anti-corner-twist features, a "dragon scale" texture for smoother turning, and capped pieces.

How the Super WeiLong versions differ

The first generation of the Super WeiLong came in three versions, all with a UV coating. The first has an 8-magnet Ball-Core with springs and 76 magnets, the second an 8-magnet Ball-Core with MagLev and 88 magnets. The third is the version described here, with 20 magnets in the core and MagLev, 100 magnets in total. More magnets in the core mean auto-alignment 3.0 instead of 2.0 and more strongly guided layers. The spring version gives a more traditional feel. The Super WeiLong V2 from 2025 is a separate model with a different adjustment system; this product belongs to the first generation.

Who is it for?

For speedcubers who want a fast, light-turning cube with strong magnetic support in the core and like fine-tuning the settings themselves. As a first cube for learning to solve, this model is too advanced and needs more careful handling. To start with, a cheaper magnetic cube is a better choice.
