MoYu Super WeiLong MagLev 3x3 8-Magnet Ball-Core UV

The Super WeiLong was MoYu's flagship 3x3 cube for 2023 and the first model in the Super line. Its mechanism and range of adjustment set it clearly apart from the regular WeiLongs. The MoYu Super WeiLong MagLev 3x3 8-Magnet Ball-Core UV is the middle version of the first generation: it has a magnetic Ball-Core with 8 magnets, a MagLev system instead of springs and a glossy UV coating. It is available in a stickerless bright colour scheme.

How it turns

MagLev makes turning light and fast, while the magnets in the core help the layers snap into place and keep the cube stable at high TPS. Reviewers of the series praise its smooth, slightly soft feel, good corner cutting and strong resistance to popping. Some cubers point out that the Super WeiLong turns differently from most cubes and that the MagLev version may be too fast for anyone who prefers a calmer, more controllable setup. Give yourself a few sessions to get used to it and fine-tune the settings.

Adjustment

• 8 levels of corner-to-core magnet strength. The magnets in the corner feet are adjusted with a dial (blue in this version), so you can change how strongly the cube aligns its layers on its own.
• 9 levels of compression in a dual-adjustment system, changed with the included tool.
• MagLev, meaning repelling magnets in place of springs. It gives faster, lighter turning than classic springs.

Which Super WeiLong version?

The first generation comes in three variants. The spring-based 8-Magnet version has 76 magnets and a more classic, controlled feel. This version has 88 magnets and MagLev. The 20-Magnet MagLev version has a stronger Ball-Core (100 magnets) and aligns the layers more forcefully. The 8-Magnet MagLev variant makes sense for a cuber who wants a fast cube with noticeable, but not overpowering, core magnets. Since 2025 there is also the Super WeiLong V2, a separate, newer design with a different adjustment system.

Who is it for?

For intermediate and advanced speedcubers who like to tune their cube to their own style. If you are just starting out, you probably won't need all these settings, and a simpler magnetic cube will be enough to begin with.
