MoYu V2 Lube

MoYu V2 Lube 5 ml

MoYu V2 Lube is a water-based cube lube designed to speed up turning. MoYu released three lubes labelled V1, V2 and V3. Each of them changes how a cube behaves in a different way, and V2 is the speed lube in this series. It has a milky white colour and comes in a small 5 ml bottle with a thin nozzle. The nozzle makes it easy to apply a few drops exactly between the pieces without flooding the whole cube.

How it affects your cube

Just a few drops are enough to make your cube turn lighter and faster. V2 comes in handy for cubes that feel too heavy, sluggish after a thicker lube, or simply too slow. Be careful with the amount, though. Users often point out that on a cube that is already fast, V2 can be too much, making the cube harder to control and more prone to overshooting. It's best to start with a small amount and add more if needed.

According to some users, V2 used on its own doesn't last particularly long in a cube. It works better in combination with another lube.

V1, V2 or V3?

• MoYu V1 is a thicker silicone lube. It gives a smoother, more controllable feel.
• MoYu V2 is a water-based lube that speeds up your cube.
• MoYu V3 is a low-viscosity lube meant to add control without noticeably changing the feel.

A popular approach is to combine two lubes: a little V1 in the core and on the centres, and V2 on the contact surfaces of the pieces. This way your cube is fast but doesn't lose all its control.

Who is it for?

For anyone whose cube feels too slow, and for cubers who like to set up their cube to suit them. The lube is also good for beginners because it's easy to dose. If you already have a very fast cube and are looking for stability instead, V1 or V3 will suit you better.
