MoYu V3 Lube 5 ml

MoYu V3 Lube is a silicone cube lube that slows your cube down. It is thicker than typical speed lubes, so after applying it your cube usually turns slower and more predictably. MoYu released three lubes labeled V1, V2 and V3. Each of them changes how a cube behaves in a different way. In this series, V3 is the lube for hardware and for control.

When to use MoYu V3

It is most often used in two ways:

• On the hardware. A few drops on the springs, screws or core improve how the mechanism works and quiet down springs that squeak or make noise.
• On the pieces, to slow the cube down. This is useful when your cube is too fast for you, you get overshooting, or it's hard to stop a layer exactly where you want it.

A thicker lube gives you more control, but the cube loses some of its speed. If you like very light, fast turning, apply V3 sparingly or only on the hardware. If your cube is too slow, a speed lube such as MoYu V2 will work better.

V1, V2 or V3?

• MoYu V1: a silicone lube that smooths out turning and gives a more controllable feel.
• MoYu V2: a milky white water-based lube that speeds the cube up.
• MoYu V3: a thicker silicone lube for the hardware or for slowing the cube down.

Lubes are often combined. For example, a thicker lube goes on the core and springs, and a lighter one on the pieces. This makes it easier to tune the feel to your liking.

How to apply

The lube comes in a bottle with a thin nozzle, which makes it easy to place a drop between the pieces or directly on a spring. Start with a small amount, turn the cube a few dozen times to spread the lube, and add a little more if needed. Too much thick lube can make a cube noticeably sluggish.
