Picube MoYu MeiLong 6 V2M Core Magnet is a factory-modified version of MoYu's budget magnetic 6x6 cube. Picube takes the standard MeiLong 6 V2M and adds magnets in the core and in the corners. Core magnets are rare in 6x6 cubes and are usually found only in much more expensive models. The cube comes in the box already lubed with Picube lubes, so you don't have to set it up from scratch yourself.

The base: MeiLong 6 V2M

The second generation of the MeiLong 6 is 4 mm smaller than the previous one and measures 61 mm. On a 6x6 this matters, because a smaller cube is easier to hold and more comfortable to turn. The M version comes with factory-installed magnets in the pieces. They make the layers settle into place clearly and reduce lockups, the problem you run into most often on bigger cubes. The pieces also have lube grooves, so the lube lasts longer.

According to user reviews, the standard MeiLong 6 V2M is fast and smooth once broken in, and lockups on the outer layers are rare. Loose settings make popping more likely, so if your turning is less precise, it's better not to loosen the cube too much.

What do core magnets do?

The additional magnets between the core and the corners pull the layers towards the center. This makes the cube more stable and better at handling fast turning. In practice, it's easier to keep up a high pace without the layers drifting out of alignment. However, the cube's feel also depends on its setup and how well it is broken in, so the difference compared with the standard V2M will feel different for every cuber.

Who is it for?

This version makes sense if you want a stable, magnetic 6x6 with core magnets and don't need a top-end flagship. If the 6x6 is just a puzzle to solve now and then, the standard MeiLong 6 V2M is enough. The Picube version is for those who want extra stability when solving faster.
