3D Magnetic Tangram A

A classic tangram is laid out flat from seven pieces. 3D Magnetic Tangram A takes this idea into three dimensions. You get a set of seven magnetic pieces that you need to assemble into a solid of a given target shape. The pieces are transparent (Transparent variant), and once solved, the puzzle measures 9.1 x 9.1 x 9.1 cm.

How the puzzle works

There aren't many pieces, but in a 3D puzzle it's not the number of pieces that determines the difficulty. Each piece can be rotated in many ways, and only one specific arrangement of the whole set fits. Solving it takes spatial imagination and testing one version after another, not memorizing algorithms like with cubes. The magnetic pieces are easier to hold together while you build, so a partly assembled shape doesn't fall apart with every attempt.

The transparent pieces look great on a desk or shelf, even after solving.
