QiYi Void 3x3x3

QiYi Void 3x3x3 is a shape mod puzzle. You solve it just like a 3x3 cube, but it looks completely different. It has very large "centers", and only the outer parts of the puzzle turn. This model is also sold as the QiYi Tori Cube. The cube measures 74 mm, so it is noticeably bigger than a standard 3x3, and it comes in a stickerless bright version.

Don't confuse it with the QiYi Speed Void Cube

QiYi offers several similarly named void cubes, so it's worth making this clear. This product is not the classic Void Cube of about 57 mm, a 3x3 without centers and with "tunnels" through the middle, which is also sold in magnetic and UV versions. It isn't the Racing Void either. The QiYi Void 3x3x3 is a separate design: bigger, with heavily extended centers and a different look from the classic void. When choosing, check not only the name but also the size and the photos.

How to solve it

If you know a method for solving the 3x3, you'll manage here too, because the principle stays the same. The challenge lies elsewhere: because of the unusual shape, you have to get used to "reading" the state of the puzzle differently. Pieces you recognize instantly on a regular cube look different here. It's a nice break from the regular 3x3 and an interesting test of whether you really understand your method rather than just repeating memorized moves.

This is a collector's and recreational puzzle, not a cube for breaking records.
