QiYi Warrior 3x3 M UV

For years, the Warrior was one of QiYi's most popular budget cubes, but it had no magnets. The QiYi Warrior 3x3 M UV is the 2025 version, with factory-installed magnets and a glossy UV coating. It is a 56 mm magnetic 3x3 cube in a stickerless bright colour scheme, sold in a display box.

How it turns

The cube is noticeably light and turns effortlessly. The magnets sit in the corners and edges, so the layers settle into place on their own, and the cube stops mid-turn less often than non-magnetic models. Users agree that the magnets are on the weak side. Turning has a light "click", but the cube doesn't feel as controlled as more expensive models with strong magnets. If you're just learning, this is more of an advantage, because light layers are easier to turn. The pieces are designed to reduce lockups (anti-stick). Some people report that their cube felt rather dry out of the box. In that case, a drop of lube clearly improves the turning.

No adjustment, no Ball-Core

The Warrior M UV has no settings at all. You can't change the tension, compression or magnet strength. There are no core magnets and no MagLev system either. It's a simple magnetic cube that works straight out of the box. If you want to tune the setup to your preferences, a model with adjustment will suit you better.

M or M UV?

Both versions have the same mechanism and the same magnets. The standard Warrior M has matte plastic with medium grip. The UV version has a glossy coating that grips your fingers more firmly and slips less when your hands get sweaty. The coating is also more scratch-resistant.

Who is it for?

For anyone buying their first magnetic 3x3 cube, learning to solve, or switching from a regular non-magnetic cube. It also works well as a cheap spare cube for your bag or for school. A speedcuber who already owns a flagship will find the magnets too weak and the lack of adjustment limiting.
