QiYi, also known as MoFangGe, is a Chinese cube manufacturer from Chenghai in the city of Shantou, Guangdong Province. Today, this region is the main centre of twisty puzzle production. QiYi cubes are mainly beginner-friendly, lower-priced models, but the company also makes speedcubing gear for competitions, as well as accessories. Few manufacturers have such a wide range: from a child's first 3x3 cube to a Square-1 and a Megaminx for practice.

QiYi cubes for beginners and practice

QiYi is best known for affordable cubes that turn well. This group includes popular non-magnetic series:

• 3x3x3: Warrior S, Warrior W and Sail W, often chosen as a first cube,


• bigger and smaller NxN: QiDi S and QiDi S v2 (2x2x2), QiYuan S (4x4x4), QiZheng S (5x5x5),


• other events: QiMing and QiMing A Pyraminx, QiHeng S Megaminx Sculpture, QiFa Square-1, Kilominx.

A separate group is the MS series, which consists of budget magnetic cubes, including the MS 3x3x3 and MS Pyraminx. The magnets help a layer settle into the right position after a turn, so it is easier to avoid lockups. It is a sensible choice if you want to try a magnetic cube without spending a lot. The MS 3x3x3 has also caught the attention of competitors.

X-Man Design and TheValk – speedcubing cubes

QiYi releases its more advanced cubes under two sub-brands. X-Man Design is a line of cubes used in competitions, including the Tornado series. TheValk was created for the launch of the Valk 3, a 3x3x3 cube designed by Mats Valk. On this model, Valk set his world record (4.74 s single), which is no longer the current record.

Unusual puzzles and accessories
