SAOCube Tornado V3 Premium Flagship UV

X-Man Design created this special edition together with the SAOCube brand. SAOCube Tornado V3 Premium Flagship UV is a 3x3 cube built on the Tornado V3 Premium Flagship UV. It is a refreshed version of the Tornado V3 Flagship, the cube Max Park used to set his 3.13 s world record. The mechanism is the same as in the regular Flagship UV version. What sets the SAOCube edition apart is its look and collectible character.

How it turns

In the Tornado V3 series, the Flagship is the middle version. It is noticeably faster than the basic Standard, but it runs on springs, so it gives you more control than the Pioneer with MagLev. Turning is light and corner cutting is strong, so the cube forgives imprecise turns. Users point out that the cube is fast right out of the box. If you prefer a calmer, more controllable feel, a thicker lube is the usual choice. Some people describe the feel as slightly "papery". There are also comments about the springs being louder before lubing.

What the Premium version changed

• Core magnets (core magnetic positioning) help align the layers and stabilize the cube during fast turning.
• Reinforced, integrated core. The magnets sit securely in their slots, which reduces the risk of them falling out. Some owners of the original Tornado V3 complained about this issue.
• Dual adjustment of tension and compression. You can change the settings without taking the cube apart.
• Adjustable magnet strength, which you can set more for speed or more for stability.
• UV Coated, a glossy coating that offers good grip and is more resistant to wear than matte plastic.

Which Tornado V3 Premium version?

The Standard has a matte surface, no core magnets and is the cheapest. The Pioneer has MagLev and is the fastest, but harder to control. The Flagship UV sits between them. Choose the SAOCube edition if you want the character of the Flagship in a limited release. There is also a separate SAOCube edition with a 20-magnet Ball-Core. That is a different product.

Who is it for?

For cubers who want a fast 3x3 cube with extensive adjustment options but don't need MagLev. It works well as a main for intermediate solvers and for speedcubers who like light turning. Collectors of the Tornado series will love it too.
