ShengShou's first magnetic Clock: magnets in the pins make every pin clearly snap into place. You set up the mechanism with adjustment screws, and it's worth loosening and lubing it out of the box. A budget model that's a great way to start learning Clock.

SengSo Magnetic Clock by ShengShou is a Clock puzzle in the classic square shape, with the same layout of faces and dials as in the WCA event. It is the company's first magnetic Clock, released in 2020. Distributors present it as the first mass-produced magnetic Clock. The trade name sometimes includes "4" or "4x4". This refers to the four dials, not to a different type of puzzle.
The magnets are in the pins, the buttons you switch while solving. A pin doesn't stop halfway. It clearly snaps into place, so it's easier to avoid accidentally changing its position during a turn. Compared with MoFangGe Clocks, the pins here are shorter. Some people don't mind this, but if you're used to taller pins, you'll need to relearn how to hit them.
From the factory, the dials turn quite stiffly, so it's worth adjusting the puzzle right away. You change the setup with the adjustment screws. Users report that after loosening and lubing the mechanism, the Clock turns noticeably lighter. Without this, turning feels clunky and gets tiring during longer sessions. Reviews also mention louder operation, and a few people have reported a magnet coming unglued. The build quality is decent, but not as consistent as in more expensive models.
It's a good budget Clock to start with: for anyone who wants to try this event, and for kids who have already mastered the 3x3 cube and are looking for a new challenge. Before your first solve, spend a few minutes adjusting it. More advanced Clock solvers often choose models that turn lighter out of the box and have taller pins. In that case, this Clock works well as a backup or for practice.
