SengSo Magnetic Clock v2 is the second generation of the magnetic Clock from ShengShou (SengSo is the name the brand uses to sell its puzzles). The successor to the ShengShou Magnetic Clock has a new design and an improved magnetic positioning system. It is a direct alternative to the QiYi magnetic Clock, and our shop offers it in a black and white colour scheme.

What magnets do in a Clock

On a regular Clock, a dial can stop between hours. The hand then sits at an angle, and it is hard to tell its position at a glance. Here, magnets pull the dial into each position, so every move ends with a clear "click" and the hands point exactly at the hour. When you turn fast, it is also easier to feel how many positions the dial has moved. According to the manufacturer, the internals have been improved so the mechanism jams less often. The gears have a grooved surface that does not slip under your fingers, and the corners of the case are rounded.

How it performs in practice

Users mostly praise the Clock v2 for performing well straight out of the box, with no need for long setup. Some people also lube it for smoother turning. There are some remarks too: the pins are quite sensitive, and if you are used to QiYi, you may need a moment to get used to the different dial shape. Users also point out that the 12 o'clock marker is the same colour as the others, which can slow down reading the state at first.

Who is it for?

It is a good starter Clock if you want to start practising this event on a puzzle that is ready to use right away, with no modifications. More experienced Clock solvers also choose it, often as a base for their own mods. If you already have a QiYi and are used to it, keep in mind that the dials and pins work a little differently here.
