WitEden 2x2x5 II is a 2x2x5 cuboid with a shifted axis of rotation (center-shifted). That's why it doesn't solve like a regular "stretched 2x2". The axis of the side turns doesn't pass through the geometric center of the puzzle, so after a 90° turn the cube changes its shape. This places the puzzle in the shape-shifting cuboids group, and it will suit a collector better than someone chasing records. This version has a black body.

How is version II different from the regular 2x2x5?

WitEden makes two 2x2x5 cuboids, and they are easy to mix up. If you are looking for the "classic" 2x2x5, check for the "II" marking. Version II turns around an axis shifted off the center. The puzzle then loses its regular shape, and while solving you have to think not only about the colors but also about restoring the cuboid shape. That's exactly why it is bought by people who collect unusual cuboids, or who have already mastered the 2x2x3 and 2x2x4 and want a harder challenge from this family.

How it turns

This puzzle has no magnets and no UV coating. It also has no tension or compression adjustment like speedcubes do. The mechanism is simple, and the puzzle is meant above all to be enjoyed during calm, thoughtful solving. It is not suitable for high TPS. User opinions about WitEden cuboids are mixed. Some people mention a loose mechanism and catching on the outer layers, especially when the cube is in a "shape-shifted" state. Such copies usually perform better after lubing and a bit of breaking in. Gentle turning and carefully aligning the layers before each turn reduce the risk of popping.
