ZePuzzle Ghost SQ-0 is a Square-0 in the form of a ghost cube. It is a shape-shifting puzzle in which each layer is offset from the centre by a different distance. That is why, right after the first few moves, the cube loses its cubic shape and turns into an irregular solid. The main goal here is not to restore the colours but to return the puzzle to the shape of a cube with an edge of approx. 60 mm.

How the Ghost SQ-0 works

The Square-0 is a simplified relative of the Square-1. It has the same types of moves: turning the top and bottom layers and the "slash" move. The ghost version adds one more challenge. The pieces differ in size and shape, so instead of looking for colours, you look at which faces fit together and which pieces line up. Contrasting tiles on the faces make it easier to track the pieces while solving. Even if you can already solve the Square-1, your first attempt will still take some thinking, because recognising the pieces works completely differently here.

The body is 3D printed. ZePuzzles is a relatively young brand that mass-produces simple shape mods, both its own designs and licensed ones. Thanks to this, you can buy unusual puzzles of this kind without ordering a custom print. This is a puzzle for solving and collecting, not a speedcubing cube. It is not a WCA event and has no magnets or tension adjustment system.
