Corner-turning instead of classic faces

The Circle Compy Cube is a corner-turning puzzle. You turn it around its corners, not its faces as on a 3x3. The name refers to the Compy Cube, a well-known design with shallow corner cuts (shallow cut means a shallower cut than on the Dino Cube). The circles on the faces make the cube look completely different from typical shape mods. The solved state is easy to recognize, and once scrambled, it forms a distinctive mosaic. Turning around the corners will feel familiar if you have solved a Skewb or a Dino Cube. If you only know the 3x3, you will need some time to get used to it.

How it turns

Early users report that the cube turns well and doesn't catch. However, starting a turn can sometimes be harder because the circles get in the way. The tiles have a slightly rough, matte texture and offer a different grip than stickers or stickerless plastic. The cube feels solid and compact, not hollow. Keep in mind that it is 3D printed. Typical print layer lines are visible, so the surface is not as smooth as on injection-molded cubes. This puzzle is meant for collecting and casual solving, not for breaking TPS records.

If you are only looking for the puzzle itself, without the keychain and card, consider the standard Tiled version. This limited, 3D-printed edition is not really suitable as a child's first cube.
